Five would be a little less tedious.

Wed, 8/8/18

I had a 60-minute run scheduled for this humid morning. I arrived at Pingry at 7:00AM for this soggy effort. I'd use campus-side Mountain Park in Basking Ridge. The outer loop there is 1.27M. At an avg of 10:00 per loop, I my initial plan was to cover six (6) loops, 7.62M, in 60:00...for 7:52 per mile.

I instead decided to start my run from the campus athletic center and head to the park (.75M-6 min) for 5 loops (6.35M-- 50 min) rather than 6. Five would be a little less tedious than six. I'd cap off the run with a trek back to the campus athletic center (.75M-5 min)

.75M from athletic center entrance to walkway of park (6:05)...8:07/M pace
loop 1: 1.27M/2.02M...16:10 (10:05)...7:56/M pace
loop 2: 1.27M/3.29M...26:05 (9:55)...7:49/M pace
loop 3: 1.27M/4.56M...35:55 (9:50)...7:45/M pace
loop 4: 1.27M/5.83M...45:35 (9:40)...7:37/M pace
loop 5: 1.27M/7.1M 55:05 (9:30)...7:29/M pace
.75M to the athletic center entrance...7.85M...60:00 (4:55)...6:33/M pace

 7.85M in 60:00 exactly. 7:38/M pace

Next few days:

Thurs-30 min easy (park or YMCA neighborhood)

Fri-30 min easy (park or YMCA neighborhood)

Sat-10x1 min up a shallow hill; walk back down recovery

Sun-75 min steady (Duke Island)

Mon-30 min easy

Tues-5x10000 at 5K pace (3:35 or better, with the 200s being between 40 and 43); 3 min recovery between each effort.
