It's humbling

Sun., 2/19/23-

I came into the workout thinking we'd do 2x500 with 8 min rest between efforts. I was thinking we'd run 1:25 for the first and faster for the second.

After consulting with John, we decided to do 2 x (400m, 60 sec rest, 100m). We'd take an 8-min between efforts. Bruce was game!

I led the first effort, which felt harder than it should've. It was an even run...at 16/17, 33/34, 51, 68-flat. The 100 tack-on that John led was in 16-low.

John led the second effort, which felt much better. We hit 15, then 31.xx. I felt us slow a bit, but I hung back, at least until the final 20m. We hit the 400m in 67-low. After 60 sec, I led the 100m tack-on, hitting the mark in 15-low.

It's humbling that this workout was not as easy as it should have been. I found myself remembering my days of 3x400 in 60 on 10 min rest and my days of sit 'n kick reps (5 x (400 in 64 + 60 sec rest+ 200 in 30 + 1200m jog-rest).
