I'm not panicking just yet.

Sun, 2/2/20

I thought I'd repeat what I did on this day last year: warm up indoor at the Y and then hit 12x150 at the track. The idea was to do 12x150 with 1 minute rest, over two sets of six repeats. I'd take 4 minutes between sets. Even after stretching pretty well and whatnot, I felt super flat on the track. Even more concerning than my slow times and sluggish self was my tender hamstrings. My goal pace was 22. I made it through the first set in 23s, an average of a full second off. I tried a couple of 100s, but they were awful, too.

I'm not panicking just yet.

Sat, 2/1/20

Went to the Y. Did a mile, stretched, lifted. I then went to Mark N. in West Orange for a deep tissue massage.

Fri, 1/31/20

Headed to campus for a short workout. I figured I'd do 8x150 with a 3:00 break (target pace 2@23, 2@22, 2@21, 2@20). The first six were fine, but then I felt a tug on the hamstring on number 7. I stopped.

Thurs, 1/30/20-Went to the Y, warmed up, stretched, lifted.

Wed, 1/29/20-took off

Tues, 1/28/20-Went to the Y, did 6x400 in 80 sec.

Mon, 1/27/20--took off

Sun, 1/26/20-Met up with a few guys at Germantown Academy. After trying to decide what to do because of the icy track, we settled for 2x300, 2x200, and 2x150. paces were 48, 32, and 22.

Sat, 1/25/20-en route East from Portland, OR.
