Test pilot: Checking to see
Still injured, but I wanted to give it a shot.
I spent a good deal of time warming up and stretching.
Test pilot: Checking to see whether I have a 60-second 400 in me. 12x150. I figured I'd run 4 in 23 secs, 4 in 22 secs, and 4 in 21 secs. I'd walk 250m back to the start, for a 3-minute rest
23-high
23-mid
23-low
23-mid
22-low
22-low

The workout went pretty well. I did feel pretty tired by the end, as I am not very well conditioned. I iced my knee, damn Osgood Schlatters.

Not good.
Tues, 1/13-Drove to Westtown School's track at 6 AM for a workout, but the track was too icy. I headed back home for a little running in the neighborhood. I figured I'd do two Rustin-plus loops in 35:00, or 4.3M at about 8:00 mile pace. Unfortunately, the pavement was icy and I was running late. I wound up doing one loop in a pedestrian 18:30. Not good.
I have a fourth appointment with Dr. Miles tonight.
Mon, 1/12-took off

Ouch. Hip flexor.
Monday, 12/29-Went to Westtown School's indoor track for a threshold workout with Shannon Grady and Ryan Comstock. I had already worked out that morning...3x1 mile at the gym.
The idea was to do increasingly faster 800s, with Shannon recording my heart rate, taking a blood sample, and writing 800 meter time after each run. She had a little help. I started at 3:50 and worked my way down to 3:00. I wound up having 45 seconds' rest between each 800. After completing seven (7) 800s, at Comstock's I finished with a 69-second 400.
Tuesday, 12/30--Another session with Dr. Miles. After a third session with Dr. Miles, I thought I was ready for a workout. Nope. Dr. Miles said no. Besides, my hip flexor was killing me on Wednesday. Dr. Miles has gotten the better of me.
Wednesday, 12/31-Ouch. Hip flexor. Jogged at the Y.
Thursday, 1/1- Took off
Friday, 1/2-7:00 mile on donut, lifting, 6:20 on donut, 8:00 running in pool.
